Stop trying to get everything done!

Leaders often feel overwhelmed. SO much comes across our desks every day. Decisions. Problems. Arguments. Strategy. And just the day to day business of running the show and keeping the lights on.

If you’re trying to deliver strategic change, or deal with large scale difficulties as well, it can all just get too much.

The secret, according to the Harvard Business Review, is… Stop trying to get everything done!

It’s not about getting everything done. It’s about making sure YOU get the right things done, and drop or delegate everything else.

And I know that’s easy to say and harder to do. We have an inbuilt tendency to say… “I’ll work less hours when I get on top of my to-do list.” But the truth is… “You’ll ONLY get on top of your to-do list WHEN you make yourself work less hours.”

If you’re a busy professional or manager, struggling to get everything done, this idea is exactly what you need.

You CAN’T get everything done, and that’s OK. You don’t have to. You have to find the most important things and lean into them.
