5 surprising books every leader should read

1. Today Matters by John Maxwell.

Yes. Read his 5 Levels and 21 Irrefutable Laws. But this is, for me, his best book, that no-one ever talks about, and is a complete guide to leading YOURSELF – which is where all leadership starts.

2. Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson.

It’s been around for ever. But has NEVER been more relevant. You should read it. And get everyone in your team to read it.

3. The Advantage by Pat Lencioni.

This is the definitive guide to making your organisation and your team healthy, effective and successful. And along the way it gives a great lesson in what strategy REALLY is. MUST READ.

4. Leadership from A to Z by…. me!

I know. This is cheeky. But this little leadership dictionary is really a book about what leadership SHOULD feel like. Get it here. https://mybook.to/leadershipfromAtoZ

5. Selling to Win by Richard Denny.

I’m not in sales. Never have been. But SO much of leadership is JUST like sales. You’re constantly selling ideas, priorities and decisions. Especially now when leadership is much more consultative and democratic than ever. You have to SELL your approach to your team and your boss. Every leader should read this.
